Hyderabad has always been a proactive city when it comes to MICE. India’s first regional Convention Bureau – the HCVB, India’s leading Exhibition Centre – the HITEX, India’s largest Convention Centre – the HICC, a world class International hotel and almost all major global and domestic hotel chains, make Hyderabad India’s top most choice of destination for any MICE event of any size and scale. Infact what gives the city an edge over the others is its ‘scale’ for MICE.

The Federation of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FTAPCCI) and Hyderabad International Trade and Expositions Ltd (HITEX), under the aegis of Department of Tourism, Govt. of Telangana are organizing an international MICE conclave “INDIA for MICE” – International Conclave 2016.

Slated for March 31 and April 01, 2016 at HITEX, Hyderabad, the event India for MICE is looking forward to attract and deliver some of the biggest events in the world of MICE. The primary objective being to position the MICE sector as a major engine of economic growth and position India as a global MICE brand. Also the event promises to promote India as a potential MICE destination to the world and point pertinently the road map to the growth of Meet in India. The event ‘INDIA FOR MICE’ has already garned support from leading national and international industry associations such as International Association for Exhibitions & Events (IAEE USA), United Federation of Travel Agents Association, Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), Indian Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB), India Exhibition Industry Association (IEIA) and other leading trade bodies including regional bodies like TEEMA, TCEI, etc.
Hyderabad has successfully won and delivered 15 major International Meetings and Conventions in the last 4 years, all thanks to the continuous MICE infrastructure development, unconditional support of government, and marketing efforts of Hyderabad Conventions and Visitors Bureau.

The international convention will discuss topics like Opportunities and FDI in MICE, how to capitalize the positive global outlook on India, blending Business MICE and Leisure Tourism and much more. Eminent conference speakers namely David Dubois, President & CEO IAEE, Robert Lee Morgan, General Manager: Dulles Expo Center, Virginia, USA, Christopher McCabe, Executive Vice President: Emerald Expositions, USA, Tom Cindric, Vice President: Informa Exhibitions, Dallas, USA, Julia Smith, Chairperson: International Association of Exhibition & Events (IAEE), Rakesh Kumar, Chairman: India Expo Mart Limited (Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts), Chander Mansharamani, Vice Chairman, Indian Convention Promotion Bureau, Rohit Kohli, Chairman – India, International Congress and Convention Association have already confirmed their presence at the expo.
The Convention will also have a parallel Exhibition with a strong line-up of Buyers and Sellers with pre-arranged face to face meetings with varied industrial/business sectors, tourism departments/boards, visitor bureaus, industry/trade associations, professional exhibitions organizers and many more. HITEX is actively pursuing the fully sponsored hosted buyers program including air tickets and accommodation, along with awesome post-convention familiarization tours.
Last year, in May 2015, Hyderabad brought the MICE world together for the first time at HITEX to showcase the MICE potential the destination offers. The entire industry congregated at HITEX to discuss the roadmap for the future.
